Adrienne Gibbons Oehlers
ABOUT
Adrienne Gibbons Oehlers is an educator, director, performer, intimacy coordinator, and scholar. Adrienne has performed extensively in musical theatre, appearing in numerous regional theatres, National and European tours, as a Radio City Rockette, and on Broadway in the original cast of The Producers. She is equally at home in music + theatre + dance.
Adrienne is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. She has also taught at Denison University, The Ohio State University, and Clark State College. She teaches a range of studio and academic classes, including Acting, Voice & Movement, Directing, and Acting through Song as well as Theatre History, American Voices in Theatre, African American Theatre History, and Musical Theatre History.
She holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from The Ohio State University.Her research and creative work intersect both dance and theatre, focusing on gender and race in musicals and within ensembles. She is currently working on her first book, tentatively titled The Radio City Rockettes: A History of 100 Years of American Precision Dancers.
